The offering today is simple - at least in theory. Lately, life has been so complicated, busy, disappointing, painful etc. I've found that my situation has eclipsed my writing. I am either churning out moody, self absorbed pieces, or I am numb...not writing at all. As a writer, I believe I am not alone - getting get so wrapped up in my head, in the day to day mess that I completely forget there are so many other moments to a life that can be brought to paper.
In this challenge, I want you to reach back - get outside of yourself, your head, and your immediate situation. I want you to write about a time in your life when you were experiencing joy. Maybe when you were a young child, or a preteen....maybe you have a specific friend or family member that always "lifted you up" - a grandparent...a favorite vacation spot - write about that untainted place in your past - or that person perhaps that never brought you sorrow. And here is the "Real challenge" - don't use your dark ink. Keep the poem positive. No blood, no pain, no sorrow. We have enough of that in our daily lives and we spill enough ink about it. For this piece only - write from your happy place. Dig deep if you have to....
Peace.
The pictures are only for inspiration. What I would love to see would be you as a child, or a picture of your favorite place - or person.
